Project Overview
A new chapter in our Apollo Timber Batten portfolio has unfolded at 201 Kent St, NSW. This project, brought to life by the visionary team at Gray Puksand, has been meticulously executed by the skilled hands of Shape, with Form Corp as the contractor. Our contribution? The ever-reliable Apollo Timber Battens, finished in the rich hue of Tasmanian Blackwood with a clear matte lacquer, seamlessly integrated to enhance the architectural narrative of the space.
When Gray Puksand envisioned 201 Kent St, they sought to create a harmonious dialogue between the modern design elements and the historic essence of the Grafton Bond building. Their concept was clear – to transform the End of Trip area into an “Urban Oasis,” offering a serene escape from the urban frenzy. The architect explains, “We want to craft a space that’s both unexpected and calming, with a premium touch that delights the end user with a gentle surprise.”
The space, spanning 105m², is designed to be more than just a functional area. It’s a journey, a sensory experience meticulously curated to leave users feeling relaxed, refreshed, and invigorated. The neutral and textured base palette exudes an understated luxury, while the interplay of light and shade, coupled with rich tones and intriguing textures, creates a unique and immersive environment.
Our Apollo Timber Battens play a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. Sized at 40d by 40w at 120mm centres, these battens are not just a design element but a testament to precision and quality. The Tasmanian Blackwood finish, protected by a clear matte lacquer, adds a touch of natural elegance that complements the rooms calming aesthetic.
Gray Puksand’s design ethos shines through in every detail. The end-of-trip area at 201 Kent St stands as a testament to their commitment to creating spaces that surprise and delight. As users transition into this tranquil haven, they are greeted with a sense of journey and surprise, a testament to the thoughtful design and meticulous execution.
In collaboration with Shape and Form Corp, we are proud to have contributed to this remarkable project. The Apollo Timber Battens not only enhance the visual appeal but also underscore the importance of integrating functional elements with high design standards. The result? A stunning space that truly embodies the essence of an Urban Oasis, inviting users to pause, relax, and rejuvenate.
