Project Overview
The design intent for the ceiling at AMP was to achieve a linear aluminium batten feature that created directional viewing angles, similar to those that would be achieved when designing with an expanded mesh material.
Traditional linear batten systems utilise a suspended ceiling configuration that typically has aluminium battens running perpendicular to their suspended track. To achieve the directional ceiling design, we worked closely with our manufacturing partner to develop a project specific bracket that allowed the aluminium battens to be installed in a cranked position at a 30° angle.
The result? A ceiling design that mimics the directional effect mesh. Meaning the user’s viewing angle into the ceiling plenum is dynamic, changing upon their position in the office environment.
Further, the open nature of the suspended aluminium battens allows for the majority of service integration to occur above the aluminium battens, creating a seamless, consistent ceiling plane.
