Situated at the heart of Brisbane, 193 North Quay stands as a testament to modern architectural magnificence. A structural symphony in the bustling city, its lobby required an ensemble of design elements that would sing in perfect harmony. The maestro chosen for this grand task was none other than OC Interiors.
At the crossroads of function and form, OC Interiors ventured forth with the Cranked Vertiline Battens. Imposing in stature, these aluminium battens, 100mm deep and spaced precisely at 100mm centres, became the canvas upon which the lobby's acoustic and aesthetic narrative would be painted. Shining brilliantly above in a pristine white finish (RAL 9003 to be exact), their uniquely angled position means the user’s viewing angle into the ceiling plenum is dynamic, changing upon their position in the lobby.
Yet, what truly set these battens apart wasn’t just their stately appearance. Hidden beneath their external beauty was a core designed for exceptional acoustic performance. A treatment on the underside of the slab granted these battens an impressive acoustic performance rating of 0.70 NRC.
The result? A lobby where every friendly greeting, hurried walk, and the soft hum of the city outside melded into a melodious hush.
